Adam Estes; Hilliard Lyons
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) suspended Adam Estes, a Hilliard Lyons representative, for 15 months and fined him $15,000. He was suspended and fined for engaging in private securities transactions without his firm’s permission. The transactions were related to five small businesses in which Estes himself invested. They included a real estate business, an ice cream stand and a firm that sold hazardous waste decontamination products and healthcare emergency preparedness services. Hilliard Lyons also stated that Mr. Estes made misrepresentations and omissions about his outside business activities on 11 annual questionnaires and other compliance documents between 2010 and 2014. These transgressions are against securities rules and regulations. Estes was registered with Hilliard Lyons in Bloomington, Indiana from February 2000 until August 2016. He is not licensed and not registered with any other firm, currently. He has one customer dispute against him.
